PROP 8 = UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!
(CNN) -- A federal judge in California on Wednesday struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage, ruling that voter-approved Proposition 8 violates the U.S. Constitution -- handing supporters of gay rights a major victory in a case that both sides say is sure to wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court.

A Summer of Learning
For my internship, I was asked to write a reflection paper on my time and experience at the University of Illinois. In doing so, I realized something about myself. I learned, relearned and most importantly, unlearned. A lot. This past winter semester, I lost a lot of myself. I drifted further and further away from who I truly was. Bridges were burned. I isolated myself form people. I put my focus into one person, who is no longer a part of my life. My priorities were all out of order. I strayed away from what was important to me. My academics. My job. My FRIENDS. MY FAMILY. But, most importantly: myself. I just can't believe all of that happened within one semester. And this summer was the time I had to pick up the pieces and put them back together.I am incredibly, blessed to have such wonderful friends who will be there no matter what, even when the times are rough. I just apologize for being such a terrible friend. Looking back on this past semester, I am proud that I have the ability to admit my wrongs and change for the better. Not only for myself, but also for those around me especially the friends that stuck around. Although I will be returning to the mess that I left behind, I know in my heart that my friends will still be there. BUT THIS TIME, I won't abandon them like before. What a semester it was...
